A story about the escapades of the woodland creatures Mole, Rat, Toad, and Badger. Their daily lives, captured through riverboat journeys, hearty meals, and occasional bouts of crime, are detailed in a warm, ambling prose.
My edition featured the illustrations by E.H. Shepard, and these ink illustrations together with the text leaves an impression of lightness, and the world being full of odd and wonderful moments waiting to be discovered.
This story always inspires me to go for walks on sunny days!
